It seems to be holiday - Beaching

On tuesday an other student and I were driving to Bournemouth by the bus, because of seeing the beach and the city.

When you were standing there, looking into the waves that are coming right across the beach, you are thinking of being at vacations.

Bournemouth is a beautiful place to be.

Some impressions I have done on that day:
Walking across the pier in Bournemouth
The beach in Bournemouth, a place that is full in summer because of the good weather

With the bus you will arrive Bournemouth Sqaure very easy and then there is only a walk over five minutes and you will be at the beach.

You walking in the park, where a big ballon is settled, with whom yo can go up over Bournemouth only for nine to twelve pounds.

At the pier you have a great view up to Bournemouth city and to the nice small beach houses which all have different colors and border the beach promenade.

Sunny time only for the pullover, even in beaching clothes it would be to cold.

Each house is colored in an other type of color that invites on making a lot of pictures with all the different colors.

After spending a time at the beach we went back to the city to look throuth the shops and searching for postcards, even it´s no holiday, for me it´s a tradition to write postcards to family and friends.

Beach houses along the way on the beach.

First day at school - third day

After the weekend, it should start, I would spend four weeks in an international school, where students from all over the world improving their english skills.

At the beginning I arrived and had to fill in a test to get into a class in school.
In school you can have morning class from 9:30 am to 12:30 am or afternoon class from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm and two of five days you had school the whole day.

I get a class in the afternoon hours and spended my afternoons at school and only on monday and Wednesday I should have school the whole day.

The same afternoon I joined my new class, where students from different countries were working in.
Italy, Arabia, Turkey, Portugal, South Corea and Germany, that was the international class I was in.

The room setup is much different from the classrooms in Germany. We had a classroom for just twelve students, so it is a small group. In the middle of the table, there is standing a black box. This black box is for our smartphones, which we had to put in there, so we are concentrated at the lessons.

In the afternoon we had one break an then the first day at school had finished.

A specific feature before the lesson starts as well as the break Finishs, is a sign. Therfor the teacher or a student turns of the light for a few seconds. Before the lesson starts and also the break is finished, a student or teacher turned of the light for a second, that´s the signal for end of break and go to classroom.

And with all these impression I finished my first day on school.

How to get a hostfamily in the UK / Bournemouth?

The first thing you had to do to get a hostfamily is to fill out a CV (Curriculum vitae).
This CV had to fill in on the internet an it's really important for the family.

You have to fill in personals skills, education, expierience in jobs and very importent, the level of languages. After that I had to go back to the website from our scholarchip to upload the CV.
After that I wrote a short summary about my personalitys and about other things, like allergic reactions, and send it to the office, which choose the family for each student.

While I had to wait in Germany, they tried to find a hostfamily.
Which hostfamily you get as well as the family name and other details about them you might get only one week before leaving germany.

Only three days before leaving Germany, I got my informations about the hostfamily

Now it was my turn to get in contact with the family. You get a E-Mail adress as well as a telephone number. Now I had to decide, wheter calling or texting.
I decided to call them because of the three days left.

Then you exchange  information and even you don´t mentioned it, you will live there for four weeks or more. The live in a hostfamily starts with the day you arrive.

Starting the trip - First day

The Day before leaving Germany

On Friday I worked for a half a day and then I went home to pack my bags.
When I finished I could relax and wait until the next day starts.

My flight was planned for 7:55 am, I woke up early and was driven to the airport.
The normal ongoing at the airport... check in and become checked at the airport.
After entering the safety control I waited till we could go on the plane.

I sat in the plain and waited for departing, but we had to leave a little bit later, because of the fog above London.

My plain started in Frankfurt and shouldarrive London at nine o´clock.
Like you can see on the picture at the right side, above the clouds the sun was shining, we arrived London Heathrow, like it was prognosed, at 9:00 am.

From the airport I had to catch my bus, driving with the National Express to Bournemouth.
First, it was hard to find the bus stop, but then I found it. At 11 0´clock my bus left the airport to Bournemouth. I had to travel three hours to come to Parkstone, a small town near Bournemouth, where I should live for the next 4 weeks.

At the bus stop my family waited for me and brought me to the house.

I unpacked all and then I was ready for dinner.
So my first day in England ended.
After dinner the first day of traveling was finished.

Trip to England

Because of a scholarchip from "Arbeit und Leben", I´ve got the chance to stay in England for four weeks.

My school informs the students of the program to visit England. Because it is for our job, we had to go to school here and to do a project.
The topic, our project should deal with, we could deside on our own, but since the first moment the place to be was given by the school. We will live in southern England, Bournemouth.
There we get a family to live in for four weeks.

At the beginning we had to fill in informations about us on the website. This we had to do, to get our family. After that we had a workshop to get further informations and to ask questions about our trip.

At that time, it wasn´t clear, where we will live for the next for weeks. We got the information only one week before departing Germany and when we had our adress, we had the pleasure to approach the family.

And with all of this ...
4 weeks of adventure will start.
